Add or edit faculty here. Check which services each person does, set their goals for this 6-month period, and choose their weekend-combination rule.
Weekend-combo rules — what each option means
- Solo only — this person covers only one service on a weekend. This is the default.
- Gold + OB ok — can cover both Gold and OB on the same weekend (e.g., AMP, SNG).
Hard global rule: OB and Bronze are never scheduled together on the same weekend. All other combinations are considered violations unless explicitly allowed above.

Pick a faculty member, then add their PTO and preference requests. Hard blocks cannot be violated. Soft avoids are preferences with a priority (1 = mildly prefer to avoid, 3 = strongly prefer to avoid).

Schedule —
Auto-fill fills empty cells with a greedy best-fit that honors all hard rules (eligibility, hard blocks, 3-week inpatient gap, OB+Bronze, solo weekends) and scores soft preferences. Hand-edit any cell afterward — violations will flag live. Run it more than once to try different fills; clear first to start over.

- Faculty can only be assigned to services they're eligible for.
- Gold weekend is always the same person as Gold week (no separate Gold weekend assignment).
- OB and Bronze weekends prefer the same person who's on that service that week — only fall back to someone else if there's a hard-block weekend, weekend combo-rule violation, or the global OB+Bronze weekend exclusion.
- Hard-block week/weekend requests are violations if assigned.
- Prefer 3 weeks off inpatient (Gold, Bronze, OB — week or weekend) between any two inpatient assignments. Auto-fill tries 3 weeks first, then falls back to 2 weeks, then fills anyway. 2-week gaps show as orange (soft) flags; less than 2 weeks shows as red (hard) flags so you can see where the fallback kicked in.
- Same person cannot do two services in the same week.
- OB and Bronze cannot be covered by one person on the same weekend.
- Faculty weekend-combo rule must be honored (e.g., "solo only" can't cover two services on one weekend).
- Holiday repeats — faculty who worked a major holiday shouldn't get another major holiday in this period.
- Soft avoids and ~every-6-weeks cadence shown as soft flags, not hard blocks.
